Self Defense & Restraints 2 day course
This NEW to the public COURSE was developed and accredited to meet the needs of Local Government Security Officers and was conducted with two groups during July 1999. There was a very positive response from participants. We are now offering it to the general public in response to numerous requests from around the state for this type of additional training.
In recognition of the problems that people have described, techniques have been carefully selected to ensure that graduates have a good understanding of how physical action should be taken, and an understanding of the basics to self defence, and restraining the attacker. Graduates will have a good understanding of the physical and legal difficulties involved in physical actions, and are encouraged to train regularly in at least the techniques learned on this course.
Broadening Horizons specialised qualified staff provide quality and up-to-date training courses and assessment. Facilitators have met the strict training requirements of the Training Recognition Council. All training and assessment is conducted at the standard required by Aust. Quality Training Framework nationally, including written & practical assessment.
Elkbridge P/L is recognized as a provider of professional training. Records of all course participants are kept and are available to regular company inquiries for course graduates.
Aims of Physical techniques Training:
The set of techniques has been selected on the basis of i) most often required in an increasingly more dangerous environment and ii) readily learned and remembered in a 2 day training & assessment period.
The training is not designed to encourage the use of force. Participants have learned the physical and legal dangers of using physical actions. This has resulted in a more responsible cautious attitude toward the option of physical force.
Provision of correct techniques to use, should the need arise for self protection or restraint due to the situation being unmanageable after Non-physical techniques have been exhausted ensures that possible legal claims arising from inappropriate responses are minimised, and public relations are improved.
Company groups or those in the country may have courses arranged at other times, and customised to their needs.
