Day 1: Understand the effects of traumatic stress
Understand the factors and triggers that precipitate and escalate Post Trauma Stress throughout the different stages of Critical Incident Stress and Chronic Post-Trauma Stress.
Gain an understanding of the effects of trauma on an individual and interpersonal dynamics
Useful for all people supporting or interacting with affected persons. Practical hints to assist rather than hinder recovery are also provided for people to use in day to day interactions.

Explore the issues and technique of the Mitchell Formal model of Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Technique including opportunities to Role-play technique in pairs only.
Facilitator Francess Day(BA Behavioural Studies, Health Education) regularly conducts this workshop for a range of people including Community Nurses, Women's Refuge workers, Government Dept. staff, 'welfare' and educational personnel. Francess has extensive experience with a broad range of work environments and people, including, Training and Development in the areas of Traumatic Stress, Aggression & Violence, Security, Caring for the Elderly, & Long Term Unemployed Groups; Youthwork, Counselling, and Facilitating Perth's first Community-based Support Groups & Information Sessions for people affected by Trauma.
